A student of the International Culinary Center, and veteran of The Dutch in NYC, Shani is classically trained in French technique, groomed by her time in American restaurants, and influenced by international travel.  She hops comfortably in and out of a wide variety of cuisines, and is an excellent and accomplished baker. She is happiest preparing rustic, seasonal, eclectic fare.

She currently divides her time between cooking weekly meals for families in Brooklyn, writing and recipe testing, throwing elegant dinner parties, and participating in photo and video shoots for a variety of food magazines including Food52.

She believes in coaxing flavors with the use of spices, herbs, and old school techniques. Finding inspiration in her middle eastern roots, she embraces freshness, insisting on only working with the best ingredients possible.

Shani enjoys baking, making ice cream from scratch and has refined her pastry skills in addition to her savory cooking abilities.
